The countdown continues…would you believe that we are only 8 days away from the big day, Saturday, October 15th. This is a weekly update to remind you to register if you have not already. Starting next Monday we will send out an update daily until Friday.
Weather Update: According to the latest Accuweather forecast, high temperature 70 and low 51 with a possibility of rain and drizzle. We will update the forecast on Monday and each day, leading up to Walk-Day.
Fundraising Update: The competition among the teams is even tighter now. Here are the top 4 leading teams this week: Team “Rings” remains in 1st place; Team “Africa Schools of Kenya” remains in 2nd place; Team “Gandhi Global Center for Peace” still holds its 3rd place spot; and while Team “MSP Club of NCA” remains in 4th place, this team has almost double its goal. Team leaders, please visit the site and check to see how your team is doing and if you have already reached your goal or have a ribbon. Remember, 3 top prizes will be awarded this year to the 3 teams that raise the highest amount. There will be 2 consolation runner-up prizes for those ending in 4th and 5th places. To date, we have raised 55% of our goal. Remember, meeting 100% of our goal, we will be able to send at least 3 or 4 young ladies for surgery this year. Thanks to all registrants and teams for your support and participation!
Proceeds: The proceeds raised from the Walk To End FGM are used to support the restorative surgeries of survivors of FGM, including group and one-on-one counseling.
