The countdown continues…we are now only 22 days away from the big day, Saturday, October 15th. This is a weekly update to remind you to register if you have not already.
Weather Update: According to Accuweather forecast, high temperature 66 and low 52 and mostly sunny. We will update the forecast each week leading up to Walk-Day.
Fundraising Update: We thank the teams that broke ribbon marks this week and hit their goals. Some teams are neck to neck for the 1st-prize place, while others are competing for 2nd-prize place. Team leaders, please visit the site and check to see how your team is doing and if you have already reached your goal or have a ribbon. 3 prizes will be awarded this year to the 3 teams that raise the highest amount. To date, we have raised $4,201.00, and we are aiming to raise $10K this year. With $10K, we will be able to send at least 3 to 4 young ladies for surgery this year.
Proceeds: The proceeds raised from the Walk To End FGM are used to support the restorative surgeries of survivors of FGM, including group and one-on-one counseling.

Hotel Accommodations:
If you need overnight accommodations for the Walk To End FGM…The official hotel is the Double Tree by Hilton, Crystal City at 300 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22202. A special negotiated rate is available when you register for the Walk. The deadline for making your hotel room reservation has been extended until midnight tonight, September 22, 2016. If you call to book your hotel reservations, make sure to ask for the FGM 2016 Walk Room Block rate. If you book online, make sure you click on the link below to make your room reservations.
