There are only 3 days left before the big day, Saturday, October 21st. Four years ago, we decided to take our campaign against FGM to the Washington National Mall. We hoped we would have at least 50 participants, and 250 participants joined us. Here we are, 4 years later preparing to host participants from as far as Europe and Africa. You don’t want to miss it. It is still not too late to register. Join us and be a part of this special event.
Weather Update: According to Accuweather forecast, high temperature 78 and low 54, partly sunny. We will continue to update the forecast every day leading up to Walk-Day.
Fundraising Update: The competition among the teams has tightened up. Team “Arifa Nasim” and Team “Tobe Levin Von” are playing musical chairs for 1st place. Team leaders, please visit the site and check to see how your team is doing and if you have already reached your goal or have a ribbon. 3 top prizes will be awarded this year to the 3 top teams. There will be 3 consolation runner-up prizes for teams ending in 4th 5th and 6th places. Thank you for getting us to 79% of our goal. We still have 3 more days to reach the goal. Please help us reach 100% of our goal. There is still time – you can do it. Let’s go teams!
Prizes: Our special prizes this year are provided by F.A. Cole, Corinna Spanu and 4imprint.
Proceeds: The proceeds raised from the Walk To End FGM are used to support the restorative surgeries of survivors of FGM, including group and one-on-one counseling.
