Continuing the countdown, we are only 5 days away from Saturday, October 21st. This is the week of our 5K Walk. Have you registered yet? We will send out daily updates as of today until Walk-Day. We want you to be a part of this memorable day so remember to register and join us.
Weather Update: According to Accuweather forecast, high temperature 78 and low 54, sunny and warm. We will continue to update the forecast every day leading up to Walk-Day.
Fundraising Update: The competition among the teams has really tightened up. Team “Arifa Nasim” has taken 1st place, leaving Team “Tobe Levin Von” in 2nd place, while Team “NOVA BP” has moved up in 3rd place, leaving Team “Peabody Against FGM” in 4th place, with Team “Let’s Get Rid Of FGM” running in 5th place. Team leaders, please visit the site and check to see how your team is doing and if you have already reached your goal or have a ribbon. 3 top prizes will be awarded this year to the 3 top teams. There will be 3 consolation runner-up prizes for teams ending in 4th 5th and 6th places. To date, we have raised 63% of our goal. Please help us reach 100% of our goal. There is still time – you can do it. Let’s go teams!
Proceeds: The proceeds raised from the Walk To End FGM are used to support the restorative surgeries of survivors of FGM, including group and one-on-one counseling.
