We are Only 51 Days from the Global Woman Awards!!

We began the countdown a week ago to the #walk2endfgm.  If you have not yet registered or sent back RSVP to an invitation email you received, time is running out, and you need to do that at your earliest.  You want to secure your spot for the virtual livestream broadcast of our 2-day event. The Global Woman Awards is on Friday, October 16th at 3:00p.m., Washington, D.C. time, and the #walk2endfgm is the following day, Saturday, October 17th at 10:00a.m., Washington time. When you register or send in your RSVP, the link to the virtual livestream and the e-program book will be sent to you in the first week of October. The Friday afternoon program comprises of musical entertainment, a keynote speech by Lyric Thompson, Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), a message from 2019 Global Woman Awardee, Maryum Saifee, and the presentation of awards to our 10 honorees. Our 2020 theme is “The Importance of Health, Wellness & Human Life”, as a salute to the many healthcare workers who have risked their lives this year to care for the COVID-19 patients, and to those who lost their lives to COVID-19, or those who were fortunate to recover from the disease. It is also why we are honoring two physicians this year with the Medical/Health award category. The physicians are Dr. Jehan El-Bayoumi of George Washington University Hospital and Dr. Sohail Rana of Howard University Hospital. Proceeds

The proceeds raised from the 2-day event will be used to support our four programs for the rehabilitation of FGM survivors and the prevention of FGM on girls. To learn more about our 4 programs, visit the links below and decide which program you would like to support.
