Valentine’s Day Special through FGM Talk & Discussion

Women’s Institute for Freedom of the Press, in collaboration with Global Woman P.E.A.C.E. Foundation hosted a Talk and Discussion on female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) last Sunday, Valentine’s Day.

Dr. Tobe Levin was the guest speaker.  She shared her work against FGM, including her recent visit to the Women’s Action Against FGM in Japan (WAAF).  She also spoke about her efforts to create a scholars network for academic teaching about how to end FGM in Oxford, in association with the University of Geneva.  Dr. Levin is a visiting Research Fellow at the International Gender Studies Centre at the University of Oxford.  She is also an Associate at the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
